Yiwu Market, i.e. China Commodity City, China Yiwu International Trade City, the No.1 wholesale market in the world, the Never End Expo, it is like a 350 days Canton Fair.

The way I work. If I dont know what I am looking for, or don't know the market area well, or am looking for a new product, then I always go to a fair such as Canton Fair, Yiwu Fair.

In a fair, it's obviouse the prices are way to high, but what you get is ideas, and get to see the products in action. Once I have found my product, I try to get samples and all kinds of brochures and information.

Now the challenge starts, after having narrowed down my search, I go to the Yiwu market, since now I know the price of the product, which I want, I would want to find a cheaper version of it, to better conditions.

Basically I call it price hunting, Yiwu market is the ideal place to do that. The Yiwu market can always beat the Yiwu fair, with prices and volume of products, but only if you know what you are doing.

The Fair, helps you to narrow down your search, and possibly find a market gap, but also helps you to get new ideas.

If used well, you can have a very helpfull combination of both.
